Dan is a queer, working class, disabled filmmaker based in Sheffield with fifteen years of experience in the creative industries.
He is the creator of several festival award-winning short films that look for the extraordinary in the everyday, always with an emphasis on heart and humour. His BFI National Lottery funded queer council estate western Hope Ain’t Right premiered at the BIFA qualifying North East International Film Festival 2023. His ultra-short comedy The Indulgence of Viv le Vac enjoyed a multi-award-winning international festival run in 2023/24. Dan is an EIFF Talent Lab 2022 alumni, a BAFTA Connect member, and alongside his own work mentors emerging filmmakers on a 1-to-1 and group basis, with a particular focus on championing neuro-divergent, queer, and
working class voices.
Through Dan Funnibygger focuses on producing strong queer, disabled, and working class stories with an ever-blossoming cast and crew of deeply talented fellow creatives. His latest short Daddy, produced in collaboration with Curiosity Junction, is the first major piece under the Funnibygger banner.
Collaboration is at the heart of everything Dan does.
